A little hard to see -- but there is a tree behind all those cards.

  • The leaves of the tree represent the effects of the economic crisis -- the problems that we see.
  • The trunk of the tree is where we placed the direct causes of those problems.
  • And the roots of the tree are the root causes of the economic crisis.

When we discussed the "Organic Goodies" activity, people created this diagram to show the way they would organize production after taking over the machine. The list on the right is a quick brainstorm of possible obstacles to this type of cooperative control.
